Maybe you have heard of a blog before but you are not entirely sure what it is or how it works. I hope this blog will help educate you on why blogging is a great way to help optimize your website.
Everyone knows that search engines drive traffic to your website. 80% of new Internet users will find a website by using a search engine such as Google.
When you do a search on Google, Yahoo, Bing, or any other search engine, it will provide you with a large number of results for your search query. How do those search engines determine which websites to show first, based on what you just typed in? Some of the criteria (secret recipe for ranking websites) that they use:
•The number of keywords in your site that match what was typed in the search bar
•The number of times your website has been visited in the past, after being served up by the search engine (How relevant is that website to the end user. The more times one website has been clicked on over another makes that website more relevant)
•The number of links from other websites that link to your website
•And last but not least, FRESH WEBSITE CONTENT
One way to optimize your website better is to give a valuable resource away for free, like a newsletter, mini-educational course, or just industry information that will educate the customer about the value of your product or service. You can achieve all this by creating a blog!
